Boeing 727 or 707 type rating

Anywhere I can get a 727 or maybe even 707 type rating these days?
Not for an employment reason or anything. Just for the thrill of it.

PanAm have both advertised on their website, but as I wrote to them, turns out that training isn't available anymore.

Would any B707 sim in operation today be of a level that allowed a type rating to be issued without demonstrating some maneuvers in the airplane ?

Probably not, I had to do bounces in the DC-8 and the 737-200.

TD,

Yep. I also had to do a flight portion of the type ratings in DC9 and 737-200 but I wasn't paying so didn't care. Doing V1 cuts in the airplane has great training value (secret: they're easier in the airplane than the sim).

He might find a B727 sim of sufficient certification for issuance of the type rating without airplane time. My B727 rating was gained like that.

Finding a B707 for bounces might be tricky, not to mention expensive. But if VLADKO is doing it for fun, maybe money is no object.

spoke to guys from Global One Training Group. Since I'd be doing this initial alone, they'd need to provide me with an FO and FE, so the total cost would run me $24k. Definitely out of my budget😬

Ouch ! Did you check Pan Am in MIA ?

Not sue why a F/E is required for the training periods. Usually the sim instructor filled that role until the rating ride when an engineer instructor was provided for that spot.
