BA Final Board Goers-How Long Is TOO Long?
I Know I posted a similar thread the other day regarding this BA afair, but after the dreaded 10 day period-I still haven't heard a thing, apart from the "relax were looking into it letter"
I would like to hear from anyone who has passed the FB recently or who is in the same situation of waiting for results as me.
I have heard stories that a few months ago some people heard the next day. I am dreading that the longer it takes the worse it is. But have also heard that now coz of the DEP things have really slowed down.
Anyway if you have any advice, it would be gratefully received and am sure would go some way to helping a lot of others in the same position as me.

I waited over 6 weeks to hear, before getting a letter telling me I was a near miss!
The BA HR consultant did call me at work and tell me where I went wrong, and how I could improve for next time - I was very impressed with the amount of time he took out of his busy day (30 mins) to try and ensure I get in next time.

I'll reply to your E-mail here as it is relevant and gives everyone the same info.
As I said before, the plan is to let you know within 10 working days. As has also been said above, now is an incredibly busy time for the recruitment team. Not only are degree results out and their holders going through the system but the DEP rate has been dramatically increased to satisfy an increase of 40-50 pilots by the end of this training year. Everyone is doing their best for 'Candidate Care' but it has to be appreciated that sometimes there are only just enough chefs.
All that having been said, there does, fairly often, arise the situation where a candidate goes to revue. It's something like this: some people are very clear cut. Pass or fail. Others are not and all the results from the selection process go up the chain for a 'higher' decision. It may be that one aspect was slightly borderline and it has to be considered against the candidates history, or how they've improved/worsened etc. This process obviously takes more time.
Now, I am not for one moment saying your case has gone to revue. The delay could (is probably) just down to the swamped system. Equally, revue does not mean failure. I don't know the statistics, but quite a few people get a 'yes' from the revue 'board'.
My advice would be to leave it until the end of next week (I know it seems like next year) and then give them another call just to see if any decisions have been made or when they are likely to be made. You could also ask whether your application has gone to revue and at least you'd know better that it was all going to take a bit longer.
Finally, don't forget that a lot of the people that do the revue stuff are pilots. I realise that the IT fraternity believe BA is there to provide computer related jobs, but it really is an airline and flying is what pilots are there to do.
Hope it explains the process a bit and helps calm those nerves a little.

Pontius makes a very important point there about the review process. That is possibly why it is taking a while. Means that a couple of the interviewers did not agree on your performance, so obviously some of them think that you're capable and think you should be in. Hope that you do hear soon. If not, follow the advice of my learned friend pontius and give them a bell at the end of the week.
