MEIR Plates problem- help required

Hi All,

Im currently flying the DA42 on an MEIR/CPL, I've completed the MEP but really struggled with having the plates on my knee and constantly looking down whilst also trying to get a steady Instrument scan and level flight etc.

Im looking to find a way where I could have the plates at eye level perhaps to the left on the window so that it doesn't effect the practical flying.

Are there any suggestions anyone could give me? I have an iPad 4 so could potentially use that with the plates on it if there is some kind of mount or suction available but would prefer to use my paper plates.

Thanks

I'd highly recommend one of these if you're going to use your iPad: https://www.flightstore.co.uk/pilot-...ipad-2-4-p3240

Are you struggling with understanding the plates , whilst multi-tasking ?, or just the position of the plates

Any iPad holders need to be approved if they’re to be attached to the airplane.
I’m assuming you can’t bring up the electronic version on the MFD?
Use the autopilot to review and brief the approach.

Hi, its just the position of the plates, would be much more beneficial if I could have them at eye level.

Hi. We all use a sticky bulldog style clip. Got mine from eBay & Amazon.

It sticks to the inside of the canopy & has a bulldog style clip attached. Better than on knee - just.

Best of Luck.
