Advice for EFA application

- PLEASE REFRAIN FROM POSTING IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH EUROPEAN FLIGHT ACADEMY AND THEIR SELECTION PROCESS. THANK YOU -

Hello everyone,

I'm in need of a very critical advice.

I've always wanted to become a pilot (yeah, you hear this story a lot on this forum! ), and after graduating college (late 2017), I spent the next year gathering information towards the industry, and I decided, following the advice of many people in the business, to get my Class 1 medical first, to be sure I'm fit for this profession.
So last summer I booked the medical visit in Milan (I live in Italy), and I was given an appointment for the end of October.
Meanwhile at the end of September I decided to apply to the ATPL course of European Flight Academy.
A few weeks before the examination I was told my application was accepted, and I was invited to Bremen for the first step (BU) of the selection process.

In October however, at the AeMC in Milan I was denied the Class 1 medical: I was declared "unfit for 3 months", and referred for external advice, and I was instructed to produce further medical documentation on my own and then come back.
I was determined to sort this issue quickly and then proceed with my selection process, however to this day I haven't made any progress, because I haven't been able to produce the required medical reports in accordance to the requirements of the AeMC.
So I'm currently stuck with Italian bureaucracy and I really don't know how to solve this... I know this might sound crazy but it is indeed true.

However, this is NOT the topic of this thread (might open a new one about it though), but it was instead required introduce my question, that follows:

If I understand correctly, you are given 12 months to complete your selection process at EFA since application, and since I applied at the end of September, little less than three months is left.
However I would like to get my medical first, if possible, but it is unlikely I'll be able to make all the paperwork AND still have time to complete all the remaining steps of the selection before the deadline.
Considering all the possibilities, I considered to withdraw my application and apply again when I'll have my Class 1, but I'm not sure I'll be accepted again given the withdrawal present on my records.
Another alternative is to contact the Academy (or their selection partner Interpersonal), explain the situation and ask them for advice on how to sort this situation out, however I received mixed feedback over this option: while some told me that being honest is appreciated in this industry, others have warned me that, having the school ties with the Lufthansa group, it is not a good idea to present yourself with a "problem" in front of a potential employer.
The third option would be "going for the throat": go on with the selection process right now, investing time (study) and money (traveling) knowing that, assuming I'll make it 'till the end, I might still not pass the medical.

What would you advise me to do?
Again, I appreciate to have the feedback especially of those who already went through the selection process at EFA and/or those who are currently employed in one of the airlines of the Lufthansa group.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!
