Differences training 365 to 155
We want to employ AS365 pilots who have 365/155 on their licences but have only flown the 365 and never sat in a 155. Can we train them in house using our Training Capt. or do we have to use an external ATO? Its obviously cheaper to use in house resources. All EASA.
If we have to take an ATO for the theoretical knowledge can we then do the flight time on our aircraft using our TRI/E

This will probably get more response in the Rotorheads forum. There is currently no requirement for any differences training to be conducted within an ATO. Provided that the training is delivered by means of a course that complies with the OSD for the type, it may be conducted by any suitably qualified FI/TRI and signed up in the candidate's logbook. However this could change quite soon as an amendment to Part-FCL, mandating differences training only within an ATO is due to be voted on by the EC this week. There is no safety case for this change, which is being driven mainly by Airbus as a means of stifling competition and by some competent authorities as a means of increasing revenue from approval fees. The requirement will not apply to SEP and MEP aeroplanes.
