Thumbs up Yippee - CPL

Today a man from the CAA said that my flying is of adequate standard for me to fly for financial reward, and gave me a PASS in the CPL skills test!!!!

It hasn't really sunk in yet, although I am celebrating with a can of beer in my hand!!!!

IR next...

Well done my friend! You deserve the beer and a good pat on the back.

Enjoy it and best luck for the future.

Kind regards

Well done foghorn! I have to admit that I have been watching your progress with interest although I can't think why!?

Where are you doing the flying bit?

Brilliant foggy, very well done. The IR should be a breeze.

Thanks folks,

There's no rest for the wicked - I'm already 4 hours into the IR (first ever SID flown yesterday).

I'll try to keep you all up to date with my progress in a bit more detail. I drew a lot of inspiration from Pilot Pete's regular digests of his progress, so I sort of feel that it is my duty.

cheers all and keep the faith - it is worth it!

Foghorn,

Whereabouts are you learning? Which SID did you fly, and did you do it correctly? What are you flying?

Look forward to the response.

The SID out of Leeds is more of a memory exercise for RWY 32. I had that on my test. Unfortunately it was the first ever SID I had done, luckily I got it right! The test was with Bill Macloed - A true Star, he puts you at ease so you're not s**ting yourself on test.

Good luck with the rest of the IR.

D11 - your e-mail address just bounced - I'll try again later.

Si and HS -

I flew the FIWUD2W off 32 - not a real hassle apart from the two quick changes of track after departure just when you're trying to get POL idented on the NAV and DME boxes 'cos it won't ident on the ground... busy stuff. I'm in G-TRAN or G-OADY, Multiflight's Duchesses.

Cool

Hey Fogghorn! Well done!!!
I'm just starting with my CPL, and may I ask you what the theoretical tests were like?
Did you find them difficult? I'm just a bit nervous...
