MCC JOC Prep

Is there anything in particular to focus on for prep to get the best out of MCC JOC training? SOP's as a given I guess though is any cockpit pre-familiarisation useful? Would also appreciate if it's useful to go with a buddy as I assume if you're both intent on procedure rehearsals etc together for example outside the formal sim time then you'll get a lot more from the course or is it better to just run with any stranger you're partnered with as that's all part of MCC?
