Recommended books and resources prior to PPL/CPL

Hi Professional Pilots,

I have decided to pursue a career as a Pilot and will attend training at a school in Canada. At this stage I have to save another years worth of money before I can commit full time.

In the meantime, can anyone please suggest some books, publications and resources I can read now that should thoroughly prepare me for a career in aviation. I am thinking of stuff like basic aerodynamics, pilot mental math, manoeuvres etc.

I am also going to attempt some applications for pilot cadetships in Australia, but if I don't get through any, I will be attending a flying school myself.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Nimai
