Oh are CAA licensed type ratings a whole other conversion? What kind of potential problems would arise if the process was not so linear?

I'll give you one example of what I mean, the Italian licence if your MEP rating expires you have to do a whole MEP all over again and not just a renewal where as with most other CAA that isn't the case

Your privileges all transfer over as far as I know but there are some slight differences between certain licencing authorities like the one mentioned above
Okay I understand. Thank you for the heads up!

Hey guys,

Inhave exactly the same question! Currently I hold a Swiss PPL with a class 1 medical also issued in Switzerland. Soon I will be done with my ATPL theory exams also done here in Switzerland. My questions are:

1. Can I go to an EASA member(lets say Poland) do the CPL/ME/IR and then ask my fATPL license to be issued in Switzerland? Since I had my medical here in Switzerland should not be a problem no?

(now a more difficult one )

2. Can I go to an EASA member (not in Switzerland) do the CPL/ME/IR and then ask my fATPL license to be issued in Portugal? In this case I only need to do the class 1 medical exam in Portugal and thats it right?

thanks a lot!!!
