A320 Initial Type Rating - Your Experience

Hi,
I'm going to be starting an A320 type rating soon.
I'm curious to know what your experiences were like when you did the A320 (initial rating).

Which is harder? The oral exam or the check ride?

I'm been reading some A320 systems guides, and I'll be honest, I'm worried that I'll have a hard time memorizing a hundred plus pages of technical data and keeping everything straight.

For example, what are the conditions for the engine bleed to turn on. There's maybe 7 items or so. Memorizing that is fine, but memorizing lists from the 100 other switches and buttons and keeping it straight is tough.

Any advice? It's like you need a photographic memory for the Airbus systems.
