Post Blue Star

Hello,

Listening to ATC at BHX today and a good deal of the BA traffic had the callsign "Blue Star".

What is this? Have I missed something?

Purple Pitot - you are quite right. It's not the only BA franchise either - GB Airways fly a lot of european services for BA from Gatwick, I think there are others too. Apart from the PA announcement at the gate "BA Flight XXXX which is today operated by GB airways", you would not know you are being flown by a different airline.
