DA42 G1000 Trainer?

Hello everyone,
I will soon begin my training on the DA42.
I thought it might be a good idea to familiarise myself with the G1000 system beforehand.
I know there's a CD you can buy from Garmin's website but is it worthwhile?
Note I only have a laptop. Havn't got a tablet.
Will it work on Win 10 ? it is quite old now.
Any one used any other trainer for a laptop and found it useful?
Thanks

I went through the exact same thought process! It looks a bit old doesn't it?!

Speak to your flying school because they will probably have a copy the files they can copy to a USB device. I'm told Windows 10 shouldn't be an issue.

The Sporty's G1000 checkout (iPad) is meant to be pretty good I think, it's about £85 though. I've only a few hours with the real G1000 and - honestly - it's a really well designed piece of kit and very intuitive. I don't think you'll have any problems.
