Absolute newbie looking for a good flying school (in any country)

Hi,

I'm a 24 year old lawyer from India who wants to make the switch to aviation. I'm looking for a good flying school to complete my 200 hours for CPL. I'm not really concerned about the location as long as it's somewhere I will be instructed in English. My overriding concern is the pace at which I can complete my hours, i.e., the institution which which has the best fleet availability: queued trainees ratio alongside favorable weather conditions, followed by quality of instruction and cost.

Any leads are greatly appreciated and thanks to any participants

The best thing to do my friend is have a good look around through search engines, go to the flyer exhibitions or similar and have a good read on here. Picking a school is down to personal preference in the end really, like choosing a phone or a car! There's many and you'll hear good and bad things, like everything in life. As long as there's not too many bad experiences you have many schools to choose from. When you have narrowed down the schools you like the feel of, then you can read/ask on here to see what other people have experienced. Going for a visit is good if you have the time/money.
Start your research and ask questions along the way. If you use the search facility you'll probably find that most of the questions you will have have been asked before. Other people will only be able to give you thoughts based on their beliefs and experiences which may not match what you experience but getting as much information as you can will allow you to make a decision that is right for you.

Good luck

On thing crucial in your case is that you look for a school familiar with the Indian regulations and requirements as far as logging your training time.
If you find a good school who is not familiar brief them on the requirements.
You also need to fly certain aircraft types to be eligible for conversion by the DGCA.

This list may not be all inclusive as I've found it through a google search but it shows aircraft acceptable to the Indian Aviation authorities:

Have you looked at any cadet pilot programs?
https://www.l3airlineacademy.com/indigo for example.

Pick a school either in India, or one which has a successful history of training Indian students and the management are familiar with the DGCA. There's a few schools in New Zealand who specialize in Indian students I believe.
