IR(A)/ME without Renewing MEP(L)?

I have a Polish EASA CPL(A) IR(A)/ME and MEP(L) which both expired less than 3 months ago.

I also have a current FAA ATP and CASA ATPL, both ME. I have 4500 hours and 2000 of that is MEP. I am currently flying the CRJ in USA.

My intent is to get a job with Wizz on the A320 and they require a current IR(A)/ME.

My question is, can I get the IR(A)/ME (test done in a MEP) and not get the MEP renewed (saving some money) as I will not be ever flying a piston, only the A320 sim for the Type Rating.

Any references would also be appreciated

Thanks!

Yes. There is no requirement to hold an MEP rating to get an MEIR. I have never held an MEP rating.
