Post Too many instructional hours?

I reckon that once you get to a certain number of instructional hours, they start to work against you in airline applications.

maybe somewhere around the 1500 mark?..

Deviant, to certain extent you are right. However, employers do like to see twin IFR instructors as well. It means that they have skills in the C&T department and that is useful to them down the road. If all you have done in 1500 hours is ppl instruction then they may question it a bit.. .Most employers would like to see a healthy mix of experience. Some instructing and then charter time.

Well I've been teaching IMC and night ratings for a year now and I enjoy the variation.

I want to make the investment in the aerobatic restriction removal. The Jump however to be a twin instructor or examiner is out of reach to the average instructor.

(this might be worth moving to the instructors forum but I think it still has relevance in here)
