FAA ATP CTP Course: TSA AFSP approval needed ?

Hi there,

I plan to take the ATP Multiengine written exam soon. As a non US citizen, do I need the TSA AFSP approval before going taking the ATP CTP course or is the course considered as "ground training" as it is only classroom and a few hours in the sim ?
