To buy or not to buy, or what to buy?

Am starting Integrated ATPL within next few months - funds/bank manager/not too many nights out, permitting!!!!!!!!!!!

Have PPL but always used club headset. Can you get good second hand ones or is it best to go for new - any recommendations???? Have to admit I havent asked the schools if they supply them - do they?

Most schools will lend them, yes. However it is often more pleasant to have your own, and you can keep them in good condition. At the very least I would recommend your own earpiece covers, as the seals tend to feel rubbery and sweaty anyway, let alone using those that many others have perspired upon ...

If you are going to buy I must say that my David Clarks (13.6s - the new lightweight ones) are excellent. They came with my ATPL course so I didn't choose or look at any others, and they also were issued in the US, so only $200 to the school not £200. I know others are cheaper, but could not comment on quality.
