Interestingly it is actually spelt ASTRAEUS and not as on the link given above. However that link does seem to work but after getting past the opening page the address changes to <a href="http://WWW.flyastraeus.com" target="_blank">WWW.flyastraeus.com</a> I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for all this...

There will be some feedback about the applications for the scheme when we get a chance. It will be of a general nature and we won't be able to deal with specific individual cases for obvious reasons. We had 180 applicants although 3 arrived after the deadline.

As for the website names, some companies register variations on their domain name just in case people don't read carefully enough. It is possible then to have those incorrect names redirect the browser to the correct page. For example, if you try pprune.com or .net or .co.uk they should all redirect you to the correct address which is of course pprune.org. Nothing sinister and shows you how careful you have to be, especially when looking for computer and internet aware candidates for various schemes.

Hi guys - sorry for the delay in replying, this is a VERY busy week for us, indeed I've only just returned from helping to fit-out our rather nice new office premises !

Nb. The new office address and phone number will be published on our website sometime late tomorrow (that's Tuesday 12th Feb).

For the record - the correct Astraeus website address is: <a href="http://www.flyastraeus.com" target="_blank">http://www.flyastraeus.com</A> although when we registered that we also took the liberty of grabbing some of the more obvious others (i.e. the miss-spellings) and which - as you've seen - do indeed redirect you to our correct site.

Ps. Bond - if the level of ache's and pains I'm now going through, having loaded and then unloaded two 7.5T truck-loads of furniture into our new offices over the last twelve hours, is some measure of how real we are - then we must indeed be tangibly real ! ...... "anybody got any Radox bath salts ?"

CrashDive,

Next time you have some heavy trucks or the like to unload, give me a shout. I'd be happy to help out and I only live about a mile away.

CrashDive

Thanks for the info..hope you've recovered from your furniture moving session!!

Regarding the website, I was able to access it last week but since then I've been unable to. Now it comes up with a screen labelled <a href="http://www.swishzone.com?" target="_blank">www.swishzone.com?</a> Any ideas as I'd like to apply.

BBK - could you please tell me what type of browser are you using, i.e. both type and what version ? Also, is it MacroMedia Flash enabled ?

Failing that you can skip the intro screen and go straight to the main page by clicking here: <a href="http://www.flyastraeus.com/intro.htm" target="_blank">http://www.flyastraeus.com/intro.htm</A>

Hope that helps.

Many thanks for your reply, the 'intro.htm' worked OK. I've now been able to submit an application.

And as an aside,

I submitted an application, and received an Email by return. In that it said that I would be hearing shortly. Any idea when that's likely to be as I've not heard anything since?

Originaly applied two or three weeks ago.

Polar - If you applied via the PPRuNe Scheme (for a B737 type-rating, in conjunction with Astraeus) then you will (should) already have been informed of the outcome for the interviews (which start tomorrow).

As to why no apparent contact for experienced Pilot applications; well, all those applications have been entered into the database as well as being subsequently passed to the senior pilots responsible for the recruitment thereof - and these chaps are presently finalising the lists for interview - and to say that we have been inundated applications would be to understate it !

Also, and as I'm sure you can imagine, there is a truly enormous amount of work going on behind the scenes to keep up with our launch timescale and the chaps, previously mentioned, are fundamental to that process.. .E.g. To give you some idea of the work levels involved, in the last two nights I've only been able to grab a total of 7 very restless hours of sleep, and some have had less ! ....... there's a lot of adrenaline fuelled activity going on, and all very exciting stuff it is too !

So, they will be in touch in due course.

Ps. Perhaps Hamrah would like to add some extra value to this.

Hello Crash, I have already submitted this post to Terms and Endearment, probably the wrong forum. Can you tell me if Astreaus have begun their cabin crew recruitment process yet, submitted an aplication over two weeks ago and have heard nothing. Is the launch still set for the end of March? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

dooroneleft - Astraeus have indeed started Cabin Crew recruitment, e.g. some 40+ have already been interviewed and just over half of that group are being offered employment. I should add though that the initial recruitment in this area is for experienced senior / purser level type people.

That said, our recruitment team will be in touch with all those who've applied - the problem we're having is that we've been inundated with applications, and it just takes time to deal with them all.

SkyGuy - Uhm, I'm finding it hard to fathom why you apparently didn't receive a reply - Danny was very sure that ALL had been replied to; I was going to confirm this with him but he's presently at some Midlands hotel whittling the successful 24 down to 10 and as such somewhat incommunicado.

That said, I will endeavour to look into your application and get response to you. Accordingly can you please contact me directly ( [email protected] ) with the email address which you used when you applied for the scheme.
