Integrated versus modular

I've been informed that airlines prefer students who've completed integrated courses. Does anyone know the extent of this preference considering that there is about a 20k difference in the training costs. Is it possible that given two ideal candidates for the job, the integrated course trained pilot would get the job because of the course.
