my experience was something like this
first an evaluation about my overall english level, then a few classes of grammar (my lower point, by far)what came next was the examination itself. As i remember the first part was to listen a few recordings of clearances, ATC Comms and ATIS then write down what they said and explain it to the examiner, then comes another test, the examination requires some concepts to be explained, i remember she asked me to explain the components of the ILS (GS, LLZ and also a question about lights) that's all as far as i remember. i took the examination on 2011, so not sure if everything is still in that way, however you can look for RELTA test on the internet, there should be not very differente
