Personnal insurance for pilots
Before I start a £35k modular course I am interested to know what insurance is available for pilots. For example two years down the line I have a frozen ATPL and for what ever reason I cannot renew my class 1 medical. I would then be X amount in debt and no longer able to work as a pilot. Are there any insurance schemes tailored for the aviation industry?
Scroggs/www - I hope this is ok in the wannabes forum. I figure that any other wannabe looking to finance his/her training would be interested in similar protection.

Loss-of-licence insurance is a standard 'perk' within the airline industry. For cover of £60,000, I think it would cost a private individual about £300 annually (but I may be way out!). I'll see if I can find out which companies offer it.

Thanks for your help guys. Spoken to Traffords this morning regarding Insurance for Training Costs. Waiting for their specialist to call back with details. Will post details as I get them.

Ok, Assuming £35k Modular Course costs, the annual premium is £101. This is based on a 26 year old fit and healthy ( well healthy anyway! ) male living with parents. This premium is an annual fee and covers the cost of training if I lose my medical before the completion of the course.
I would have thought the only thing preventing me completing the course would be losing the medical as I have sat serveral IQ tests and I seem to score highly. I think for anyone considering a loan for training, this premium is highly resonable.
Has anyone else had similar ideas or thoughts? if so would you like to share them.
