Thumbs up JAA ATPL courses 2 or 3 phases?

I have been phoning around some JAA ATPL distance learning providers, and have found that the duration is is approx 3 months per phase.

Some outfits say they can provide 2 phases i.e 6+ months
others say 3 phases i.e 9+ months

I am hoping some of you chaps who are currently/or have done either route can tell me how you found each.

Academically I'm sound, just gauging up which is best.

Many thanks

Minimum time is 6 months. That means you do either 7 subject per 3 months. (or can be split 6/8)
It is a very intensive 6 months.
So, now some are splitting it up into more managable chunks.
