Excellent addition to the Tomahawk checklist there. I approve. It should also be added to the pre-spinning checks on that aeroplane (apart from the bit about the throttle). Love it!
And please tell us how your first Solo went Bamboo! No doubt you too will experience the feeling that you've just taken off in about thirty feet due to the lack of an instructor in the aircraft. Be aware your aircraft is going to feel like it wants to stay up there all day too (get the thing fully fuelled, it may help with the weight slightly
).

I just did mine 2.5 hours ago and I still haven't landed.
You will be scared before you go but once on your way it all changes and I just did what I had done so many times with the instructor. The ATC were great and made sure all was running well. The scariest thing was looking and seeing that no-one was next to me but you don't have time to be scared.
Also thanks to IFR and everyone at the seminars as well as City Flyer for the jump seat rides a couple of weeks ago, as it has reminded me of why I love flying.
Happy Landings

Once again, thank you all very much for your replies, I definately feel better now that I know that most, (if not all), persons feel the same anxieties as myself.
Because of unexpected work committments, I've had to postpone my solo until near the end of June, but am now <almost!> looking forward to it.
I'll let you all know how it goes
Thanx again Bamboo-zled

Couple of things to remember :
Push forward on the yoke & the houses get bigger, pull back and the houses get smaller, keep pulling back and the houses start to get bigger again but more quickly this time.
Any landing you can walk away from is a good one, and if the airplane can still be used afterwards it is a bonus!
Enjoy.
