Ralph,
Have you actually read my post?
Is it or is it not trying to confirm facts? It was a question, indicated by a "?"
And "chopped" is as good a word as any other. What would you prefer; terminated, ended prematurely, finished, etc etc??
As Secret Squirrel says, this is a Rumour Network, not a factual information service.

Just been chatting to a EOG Skipper for the latest gen:
In addition to the 4 * 737's, 6 * 767s and the Classic 747 fleet there will also be the grounding of 10 more widebodies, expected to be 744's.
He estimated that cadets waiting post graduation would be looking at 2 years minimum. Of the 400 odd pilots spare at least 200 were retiring anyway in the next 12 months. A further 200 could well be persuaded to retire early under the rules allowing BA pensions to by 'crystalised' (too complex to explain here) at age 50.
This could see the 400 out requirement to be met within the next 6 months.
Cheers,

Hi '28,
Can confirm that (as of last Thursday!) this rumour is wrong. BA told those of us at OATS that it is was still their intention to complete our training. Although obviously there may well be a wait at the end. Lets just hope people start flying again.
I knew that logging on to prune would only scare me!
brgds,
UJ

Uniform Juliet is a wise owl.
BA won't be recruiting for another 2 years, which is a bastard for those who were starting courses soon. It also means we have to put up with these damn algerians on our own at OATS.
Out of interest those cadets in the hold pool that will be over age when they start, what will happen to them?
