although instructors are regulated by the CAA, flight training schools aren't. As it stands, they're not regulated by anyone at all.
sorry concerned mum, if you had read all the comments here you would know that this statement is patently untrue.
Who do you think Authorised Training Organisations are authorised by.

I agree with BigGrecian and his comments.

In any regulated activity some will operate well above the minimum and some operate on the minimum. The trick is to fly with the schools that go beyond the minimum.
The problem for the schools that operate at the minimum standard is that there is no margin for error and any mistakes or problems take them below the minimum.

This is when concerned mums and dads need to do their due diligence and get underneath the sales patter as the right questions, look at sample trainee records etc.
