Question What's BAe Systems like?

Hi there. Im heading to Jerez in September to start abinitio pilot training. Between now and then, I plan to visit Jerez to view the equipment. However I have a few questions for all of those who have graduated from Jerez.

1. Ground School. Do BAe use multimedia during groundschool like OATS? What are the lectures like?

2. Instructors. I have had some poor instructors in my time flying! (not long!) I dont need more poor instructing. What is the quality of instruction like?

3. Accommodation. What is the accommodation like. Is it comfortable etc? Is there a telephone?

If anyone can help me aout a bit, please do so.

Many thanks

Paul Savage

G'day.

I can't speak for BAe in Jerez but BAe Systems Adelaide is top notch. All the flight/ground instructors are motivated and all know their stuff.
Aircraft are all well maintained, any U/S's get seen to quick sharp and there are a heap of Flight Simulators. The premises are very impressive too, all facilities avaliable, library (with internet videos etc) swimming pool, gym, tennis courts..Same as Jerez.

Reading the above posts regarding OATS...I can safely say BAe won't treat you the same, regardless of whether your a Private Cadet or from a Major Airline.

I've found BAe treat all their cadets equally, no matter which airline/background they are from which is an admirable quality.

Unfortunately BAE Adelaide don't run the JAA integrated course anymore...so won't really help you much. But I am sure Jerez will be equally helpful and accomodating. If you've got any questions e-mail me.

Cheers

Hi,

I will be starting in jerez on the 18 July 2002.
Therefore, I cant give u any info on groundschool etc.
However, I have visited the premises ans spoken with management/instructors ans students.
They all told me that it was great place to study and that the instructors were top quality.

I can tell you about the accomodation. The rooms are big to any standard, especially compared with universtiy residences in London !! Every room has its en-suite bathroom, airconditioning, a table, chair, telephone etc... All this is topped off witha very noce luxury feel....really feels like a small luxury hotel !!

Sorry I cant give anymore info,

see you in September,

Andreas

Can't say I was one of Mr L's fans but I hear he has left and is looking for boat people.

I found Keith Ambrose one of the best instructors after Matt, and I believe that Graham Morris is now there in ground school, he knows his stuff on all the subjects, he took the view that if you failed an exam he would say ' we both failed, I failed to teach you and you failed to understand'.
