Question Layoff criteria

Probably a bad time to raise a question like this, and if anyone feels it's not appropriate, I'll happily delete this.

My question is, given some one like Virgin is laying off 60 pilots, what criteria do they use to select these?

Last in first out
Age
Seniority
Personality
Sim check assesments
Random

Also, out of the 60, do they lay off 60 FO's, and then demote some in command back to the RHS, or do they layoff 30 LHS's and 30 RHS's?

PS

fingers crossed things will not get as bad as predicted.

Layoffs are usually done by seniority - last in, first out.
