CAE Oxford Aviation Academy - Skills Assessment
Hello Everyone
I'm currently preparing for my retake for the CAE Oxford Aviation Academy skills assessment. Unfortunately I failed the maths test by 1 mark previously which means I have to retake the entire COMPASS test again.
Just a quick question to anyone who has done the assessment recently / preparing for the assessment. Is it true that there are now two maths tests? If so, what should I expect in both of the exams (one mental arithmetic for example and one longer answer)?
I've already been preparing using:
PAT | PilotAptitudeTest
reparation Software for DLR Test
After having a look around I found these, but if anyone could add to it that'd be great.
* Equations
* Percentages
* Rule of three
* Two-dimensional space
* Three-dimensional space
* Basic speed problems
* Rate of climb or descent
* Head-ons and overtakes
* Time
* Angle calculation
Annoyingly all the information needed used to be on the Oxford forums but since there has been the introduction of CAE the forum has gone and there is now a new one. The new forum however doesn't have any of the original invaluable posts.
Any replies appreciated.

Skills Assessement help
Hi Harry, i think Skytest is a very good tool but you should use it and also subscribe to latestpilotsjobs.com tests for oxford aviation academy because for example the orientation test on latestpilotjobs(LPJ) is very similar to that taken at oaa and also the control test on LPJ is very similar to oxfords assesasment.
Read alsogoogle " Capt Gordon's blog" esp the comments theres a lot off discussions with useful material and sample questions discussed there.

Isn't it strange that CapMills signed up just to promote LatestPilotJobs.com? They must need the money!
Have you checked out your local library? You'll be surprised how much relevant information in the job skills section is pertinent to the exams you may find yourself sitting at flying school assessment days.
