Licence Conversion / options

My compass is spinning!

I passed all my ATP's completed in Aug 2008. I currently fly in West Africa on contract using my South African ATP. The Aircraft I'm type rated on is the B1900D.

I looked into returning to the Europe recently and was told by the Polish CAA that to convert I had to complete a new type rating on a Multi Crew aircraft and sit a flight test on that aircraft before the end of Aug this year. Following this they would issue a EASA ATPL.

Very good, but I don't want to pay for another rating at 20K, and I'm only interested in flying non airline anyway.

I want to enter to apply for positions in the King Air marketplace. Has anyone had experience of converting an ICAO licence to follow this route.

Cheers
