Faa ATP single engine and type rating
Hi Fellas,
I have a question. If I only have the ATP SIngle Engine, can I do a type rating in a lets say 737 and get the ME on the same checkride?
I have Easa Atpl 4700h me.ir. And I just did my faa written.
I was thinking of doing the ATP SE because its cheaper.
Thanks

Yes, you would get the MEL rating if you pass a 737 type rating ride.
I used to be you could use the ATP SE as a "place holder" if your written test was going to expire. Pass the SE checkride, you've got an ATP and you can add the ME rating or a type without another written. However, starting this August, if you only have a ATP SE and want to add an ME rating, you will have to complete the ATP training program referenced in other threads.
