Question How useful are the wind protractor and wizplot from Transair?

Hi,

I was looking through the Transair catalogue when I discovered the wizplot and the wind protractor. I am thinking about buying these. Can I ask has anyone had any experience of using these in the air and how helpful are they for enroute nav? Do they come with instructions?

I bought a 'windprotractor' once , thought it was a good idea but never used it , stayed with the CRP5 . As for en route nav there are many variations of the 1 in 60 rule which make life so much easier in the air than mucking about with protractors and such crap in the cockpit . Personally I make my track my heading and allow 5 degrees for wind if that isn't enough allow 10 degrees and just bracket from there . You should seldom need much more than 10 degrees unless the wind is really blowing a gale . It's surprising how accurate a good guestimate can be .
