Initial Multi Engine Endorsement

Hello all,

I hold a CASA CPL with a flight instructor rating. I have completed all of my training in Australia and hold only single engine hours. To progress further within the industry the time has come to enter the multi engine world. What I'm trying to find out is it worthwhile doing the initial over in the US? As I will be there for a short period of time. I have no intention at all of working in the US, but the newer a/c and reduced hire rates are appealing. Has anyone from Australia done this? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated
