The importance of Final Exam results at your flight training academy

Hi guys, I just had my Piston final and I got 95% on my exam and I wasn't too pleased as I rushed it mainly because Pistons is my least favored subject and the professor made a really hard test.

Regardless of my personal opinions on this, what are the importance of final exams, is this a decent grade - and do employers care about your final results or are the exams you sit at the Aviation Authorities more important?

When I went to my CPL/IR school, my CPL instructor called everything over a "pass" a waste of effort.

When I applied to the airlines, they asked for the results of my ATPL exams.
When I sat a selection board, I had to take a short theory paper.

Go figure...I'm not on any selection board but good marks are always better than low ones!
