question regarding MCC and SP to MP

Hello,

I m a commercial pilot holding a Frozen ATPL and CPL A.
My question is about a training.
Now I m rated as SP on EMB500 and I need to make a transition on MP for commercial operation.
I have already a MCC certificate issued on 2008, the question is:
CAE told me that my MCC is no longer valid as are more than 3 years, and I need to retake again a MCC course to have possible my transition during the first OPC.
Is that possible?? for what i Know the MCC don t have any expire date..and also on the FCL there are nothing regarding that..I don't want to spend a lot of money for nothing.
Please there are someone who can help me to find if what CAE said have really sens or not?

Thanks a lot for anyone who want answering.
