Epta/eta/sft
Does anybody know if the three organisations are linked in anyway. From information gained from a previous thread I know that the former sft now EPTA is managed by colin green and is affilated to cabair however is it just a coincidence that the initials of the new fto are almost identical to eta and furthermore may cause confusion as to who is who. One thing I do know though is my money will not be going in the direction of the new organisation.

EPTA = European Pilot Training Academy
Has no official connection with SFT. They use aeroplanes bought fromt the administrator, and the employees were involved with SFT in various capacities, but they were never SFT. Owned by Cabair, not by anyone who had anything to do with SFT.
ETA = Examiner Training Agency
Has no connection with EPTA
I only know of three people who gained from SFT's collapse, they did so by pure chance and good luck to them. None of them owned any stake in the company.
No-one who had any stake in SFT has since started a company, as far as I am aware. One is now employed by another FTO, but it would be pointless to complain that he gains emplyment. If he did not then we as tax payers would have to pay his keep.
Please do not use this thread to debate the rights and wrongs of the management of SFT - it will only be closed. Complaints have been made about the misinformation posted maliciously on another thread.

ETA STS GTS at Bournemouth
This post is for Robthestudent and anyone else who wants to know.
ETA is the flying element of our FTO headed by Tony Kember with other top instructors
GTS is the ground school element of our FTO headed by Roger Henshaw, Dave Webb and Peter Swatton
STS is the simulator element headed by myself Mike Boulton
This is not meant to be an advert, it is just to clarify our status as not being connected to anybody else other than the names above.

Not wishing to enter into a mass debate about the above but please tell me who will be conducting the pre test flights at epta if it is not going to be eta and are you sure that A Kember was not head of training at sft.

Right, to correct some of the misinformation going around
It is a requirement of approval that 170As are conducted 'in house'. Therefore ETA cannot be used by EPTA students for this purpose. They will be done by Cabair instructors (as EPTA is part of Cabair and work under their approvals) until EPTA are able to do so themselves.
Tony Kember was Head of Training at SFT. I was Navigation Groundschool instructor at SFT. So we both lost our jobs. He already had a company going (ETA has been here since before I joined SFT), I became self-employed for a while, now work for BCFT. Apart from his experience at what was an excellent FTO I cannot see the current relevance of Tony Kember's former employment. You will find when you have been in the industry the same people pop up. It is a fairly friendly, close-knit community. In the training environment it has a lot of people who work where they can, not necessarily full-time in one job.
God luck with your flying Rob. Nothing wrong with PAT.
