Help with term

I can anyone explain the meaning -

"if possible I would like a chance as a DEC on a wide-body, either Boeing or Airbus"

DEC = Direct Entry Captain ie. Joining a company straight in as a captain.

Wide-body= Aircraft type with two passenger aisles
(compared to Narrow with 1)
