anyone believe in luck?

tell me if this is not a sign!

I'm a student pilot... supposed to go up almost every day for instruction. My very first week, I went up once (due to Wx). Second week I didn't go at all, 2 days of bad weather, and 3 bad planes (usually found something wrong at runup, cracked engine mount, bad magneto 2 times)

and now after all this in my 5th week (been up 5 times in as many weeks) my instructor quits!!! I'm put on hold until they can find me another one! this is not a good start to my flying career!!!

Think how much money you saved. Not to mention the lack of death caused by exercising good judgement!!

Hate to say it, but it's all part of learning to fly in the UK.

One conselation, it does get better on average towards the summer.

Time to spare - go by air...

Don't let it get you down, there will be plenty more delays and setbacks along the way, and you just have to go with them when they happen. Does sound like you've been particularly unlucky, though.

I'm curious about how you'd recognise a cracked engine mount during the run-up. Severe vibrations??? Definitely something I'd rather find out about before I took off!

Just think how pleased you will feel when you get your licence. Flying is full of frustration. If you want it enough you will do it.
