Navigation log
How is it with navigation log? Is it necessary to have it? I mean that chart where you have dep airport, legs and heading, distance and time. I know it's used very often but is it really necessary according to law? I was looking for that and I know only about flight plan which is necessary in certain circumstances and navigation log, if I can say that, is part of OFP. But please, where can I find things related to this in annexes?

Hi Azgalor,
for commercial operations you can find that requirement in Part-OPS
http://www.skybrary.aero/bookshelf/books/818.pdf
pg. 205
(or do you need to find the ICAO docs reference?)
What I don't know if it's regulated somewhere for private flying, or flight training. For flight training it's usually contained somewhere in the Operations manual of the flight school. For instance in 2 of the schools I used to work students had a sheet that displayed the W&B calculations and graph and runway performance on one side, and on the other side a navlog, and it was compulsory for every flight.
