Atpl...

How do i go about getting my ATPL award? Can i just buy it and study it, then do exams as and when i like? Must i join a class or something? I know Transair have an ATPL set for 800 pound or so. Is this all? (apart from the 1500 hours or so)...

Suggest you refer to CAA publication GID25 'Requirements for the Grant of a JAR-FCL ATPL (see www.caa.srg.co.uk) and read Clive Hughes' book The Guide to Getting a Commercial Pilot Licence. All will be revealed.

Couldn't agree more about Clive Hughes' book - it really is/was excellent so much so that my copy was "borrowed" but was never returned. Also, lurk around the wannabes forum for a while and you'll pick up most of the info you need.
