Question Caught in a Trap?

After a recent job interview I felt like "I was caught in a trap." What I mean is that the potential seasonal employer took one look at my resume and thought that I was an ideal candidate for the airlines (2700TT, 2400 ME, 1550 PIC). Being afraid that I would only work for one season, he said that they were very nervous of hiring someone in my position. This job was not an entry-level position. Truth is that if I did indeed like that job I would continue doing it for quality of life issues (posting, enjoyment of the flying itself), despite the pay difference. However, after not receiving the subsequent phone call, I imagine that I did not convince the employer. This scenario is fine if the airlines are hiring and if the airline company does see my resume as fitting the "ideal candidate", but...
Anyway, I'm interested in others feedback and how to deal with this next time.
