step over from integrated to modular, is it possible ?

hi guys,

i searching my ass off and i'm don't find any info about this subject.
Maybe i find some help here.

i'm currently in an integrated course but is it possible to go modular? I have about 90 hours total and 40 pic 22 hr IFR ( sim). I have also a PPL ( yes it's possible to get a ppl in the integrated course, you just have to do the practical ppl exam ;-) )

Surely its up to the school where you've paid you're money to decide. The hours can be counted towards licence issue.

It's possible but not particularly straightforward.

You will have to meet the pre-entry requirements for the course you want to do. For example, you need 150 hours flight time to commence the modular CPL(A) course so that's out. It's possible that you could do an IR and MEP, which would give you the extra hours required to commence the CPL but you need 50 hours cross country flight time as PIC before you can get the IR issued.

In any case, you will need to have passed the relevant theoretical knowledge examinations before attempting either the CPL or IR skill test.

Of your 90 hours, only the 40 PIC would be any use to you. You would still need 150 total time including 100 PIC for the CPL, so you would need to get flying solo with your PPL.

The sim time you have would not count towards any modular course, you would have to repeat whatever you have done.

Of the 40 PIC hours, are they all solo, or are some PICUS or P1/S or whatever, as these will not count for anything in the modular world.

There's a reason that integrated and modular are so different, everything about them is the opposite, so there isn't really any way to cross between the two.
