Calling all Welsh wanabees!

Interesting contract bid published today:

https://www.sell2wales.co.uk/notices...ity=MjcwNzY%3d

It seems the Welsh Assembly is funding Modular Professional Pilot Training with European money, it appears to be funding that is for ex-nuclear power workers retraining. Nice one to Captain Nuclear, but not sure that one-off Government funding is a fair and open scheme for people who want to be pilots - especially as it's very likely the investment will leave Wales for training and for a job.

If it is an option though, I would suggest you all bid for it!

If you follow the link:

Description of the RFQ

We require a witten quote to provide the above learning. The training is for one person and is to commence within the next 12 months.
One can only assume the Welsh have a problem with their Rs - or maybe English isn't their first language.

How does this work then? Is it exclusively for pilot training companies advertising for funding, or can a student submit an application?

Interesting all the same!

Edit: I've now discovered that the funding has been applied for to assist ex-Nuclear workers to retrain in another discipline. Definitely a great opportunity for the Welsh ex-Nuclear guys though!

Problem is that most of the welsh nuke workers like the ones up in Sutherland are the wrong side of 40. And a large % arn't welsh by birth.

If they are intending doing this and someone from the welsh assembly is reading.

Just getting them trained in this day and age is worthless without multi crew hours, at least 500.

Don't pay for the expensive premium training with the big schools. You could get 3 trained for the same price as one.

Get them trained modualar then have it as a condition of the PSO route from Cardiff to Valley that they get used as the FO's then booted out after 500 hours or they get a better gig.

At the moment you are all set to get shafted by the training industry with very little return for the welsh people that your trying to help.

It's happening again; so maybe the first one worked!
