MultiFlight, Leeds

Hi Folks,

I'm nearing the time I need to book my CPL (and then IR) and MultiFlight has been recommended to me by a number of people. I visited them yesterday and was very impressed with the setup and the people I met.

Does anybody have any recent experiences of doing their CPL or IR with them? I'd like to hear about anything good, bad or indifferent.

Thanks in advance.

Can't comment on MF, but how long will it take to do a CPL at Leeds given the next 6 months of Winter ahead of us and only 1 runway ? If you live nearby however, at least you won't be paying for accomodation as it's a similar problem for most places up North

Hi FANS,

Sorry, I should have clarified. I'm planning on booking the CPL course for April next year, so hopefully better weather.

Yes, I have family nearby so accommodation wouldn't be an issue.

I take your point about weather in the North and at LeedsBradford airport specifically. This is one issue that's putting me off.

MF also do cpl training at Blackpool, which has significantly better weather, and more flyable days than Leeds - hence why they opened it as a satellite base.

Plenty of cheap accom in Blackpool.

I started my ppl training at multiflight, the staff are great, the setup is great but the weather is an issue at leeds.almost certainly crosswinds most of the time and low cloud bases due to the height of the aerodrome amsl.i booked 4lessons per week and on average only got out maybe once at best so moved to another flying school.the choice is yours

Did both CPL/ME & IR at MF in the last year. CPL/ME at Bpl and IR at Leeds. Cant fault the instruction what so ever. I definitely recommend Bpl for the CPL/ME as the weather is far better than at Leeds and the instructor is brilliant, hes also meant to be spot on for the IR too.

I'm not even working for commission to recommend them. I have advised a couple friends to go there recently and all have had similar experiences.

The only issue i had with Leeds was with the weather. Its the killer when you have a time limit, especially for the CPL. I would strongly advise allocating 20% extra time than already planned for the CPL, and if you do it quicker then happy days.

If you need any further in depth experiences PM me.

Did my MEIR & MCC at Leeds with them a few years back. Superb. Cant fault them at all. Sim good, aircaft great, instructors excellent. And you get a discount in the cafe!

Brilliant set up, great instructors etc, I second Blackpool for the CPL due to LBA being on a hill, and the instructor there is a top bloke.

If you can get over to BPL for the CPL good chance is you will not get much disruption due WX etc I did my PPL over there and only had the occasional day we couldn't go flying, BPL seems to have its own Micro-climate.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Planning on taking a look at Multiflight in the next week or two with a plan to do the CPL/IR in the new year. Does anybody know of a plan to get a sim at Blackpool or is that part of training staying over a Leeds?

Also is there/has there been any kind of recommendation scheme to Jet 2, there is a link on the website and they both have head offices at Leeds so logic would suggest at least an awareness of each other.
