ACA - Airline Career Academy

Hey Everybody,

I would like to know if this flight training school is great " ACA "? Have you got any returns about the reputation of this school.

ACA is know to ensure the convertion from FAA to JAA. First phase in Florida, and the second in Spain to convert FAA to JAA.

Hi, I went to them when they were Orlando Flight Training and partnered with Cabair in the UK, I have heard bad stories about them, but didn't have many negative experiences myself. Not heard much about them since the demise of Cabair and them becoming ACA though. Would be interested to hear how/if its changed.

Hey

I did my initial PPL with them in 2011 and then hour building this year. Some of the instructors are great. Some are just horrible. Like at many schools I am sure.

They had a fleet of around 10-15 pa28's at Kissimme airport. And at least 2-3 were in maintenance everyday.

The scheduling was really messed up aswell. The hour builders got the worst schedules. The students got many of the good (morning slots) and we were put in at times where thunderstorms were the most likely. Because of this my friend and I had to extend our stay by 3 weeks.

Also the italian students there are a real problem. The scheduling guy is italian. and he gives all the good flights to the italian students. The split at the school is half italian and half latin american and none of them can speak english which is really annoying. They dont help on the radio either, they take around 3 times to make standard calls which gets really frustrating.

Thats my honest opinion of them.

Maintenance problems

I want to add something about the maintenance.

I when i was doing my ATPL groundschool there 2010-2011 i flew sometimes with my friends there doing hourbuilding on the PA-28 and i have to say i have never in my life seen anything as bad.

Almost every plane had some kind of a problem, if something in the panel broke down they put an INOP sticker on it instead of fixing it and all of them were very badly equiped and the planes were barely airworthy

One time a PA-28 came out of a 100 hour inspection with 1 cylinder missing
