Post Any Good Books and other queries!

I am quite new to this, and with my aptitude tests for BA of August 30th, I was wondering if any of you had some answers to a few of my questions;

1)Does anyone know of any good books to brush up on aircraft knowledge, i.e the physics of flying!
2)Has anyone been through the final board stage? What kind of technical questions are you likely to be asked?
3)Does anyone else have aptitude tests of 30th August?
4)Have they got rid of the letter wrtting and group stages of the tests as I was recently told?
5)awww sod it , I think this post is long enough!

Any answers would be gratefully recieved!
Cheers my fellow wannabes and pilots!

I would say from the searches I have done that 'Mechanics Of Flight' by AC Kermode is a must for any of us wannabes. I was looking for a book that covered the physics of flying etc. and this book far outshone any others on the market.
Buy it!

VFE- thanks for the advice, I have just got that one out of the library but suspect it is quite an old edition. Haven't had the chance to start it yet!
Cheers anyway mate!

Concur re: Kermode.

I'd also recommend a good book on FMS, and Brian Cosgrove's "Pilot's Weather".

Covers a lot of things at a fairly basic level.

All the best.

Yes,

"See how it flies" is really a must! Very well written thus easy to read.

Well done John S. Denker!

Good, innit? I've got to be honest, though, and say that a chap here called kabz told me about it, so he gets the credit for finding it. It has done me a lot of good, though, so I keep passing it on

Chapters 2 and 3 are worth reading a couple of times even if you can fly like Chuck Yeager, IMHO. Some good background theory there.
