Ok, Who's trained for JAA CPL/IR at Stapleford??
I'm training for my JAA CPL at Stapleford Flight Centre at the moment, and wanted to get some opinions of the training by others who have gained their pro licenses there, or are currently training there.........

Stapleford is an excellent school as far as I am concerned. I have been flying from there for over a year and have been thoroughly impressed. It is quite expensive for aircraft rental but this is compensated by the excellent packages offered for the commercials.
See you there soon.

PA28,
Who was/were your instructors for your CPL and IR out of interest???
If you're already fzn ATPL, then I guess you wouldnt have seen the new IR sim, very nice bit of kit!

WELL......... INFACT, OK, ROGER! Hi mate, good to hear from you!!!!!!!!!
Man, sounds like you're flying like a ho down in SA. Thats more hours in 4 days than I've done since we started our ATPL's last year!!!
Like I said mate, good to hear from you, and make sure you get your drinking head on later in the year, for when I come over and visit!!

Good school getting good results, of first six students on CPL courses 5 got first time pass with the other getting partial then pass. On IRs 6of 7 got first series passes. New simulator is state of the art but not on line until next month by all accounts. If anyone is considering Stapleford my advice is to contact them and arrange a visit. They will show you around so you can see the aircraft, simulators, accommodation, maintenance, etc.
Prices are good news too.

Well couldn't resist adding my two bits worth on this one as I have both trained and worked at Stapleford.
To anybody considering Stapleford may I reassure you that you would be hard pushed to do better anywhere else both for money and for quality of training. I guess you could say that you can judge how good a school is by the things people have to say about it AFTER they've left. I've yet to hear a bad word yet.
And in case you're wondering, having Stapleford on your CV will get noticed and make a difference. (As will mentioning your aquantance with Mr E.T.).
Having just left as an Instructor to a 737 job I don't think I'd have traded any of my training even if it was at OATS and free.

So Featherman, Can we deduce from your post that you consider your decision to get an instructor rating and to work at Stapleford as one of your better ideas then ?
I happen to know that there are a few ex students who are now PPL holders that are glad that you did decide to work there.

Well G.C. I suppose you could say it was a "joint decision". No regrets at all looking back...Did me a world of good. And along the way met a great bunch of like minded aviators...some of whom I have promised jump seat rides!!
