Question Accom Near PPSC

I'm coming over from the US later this year to do the Module 1 exams and am looking for accom near PPSC which is where I am doing the refresher course. Does anyone have any tips on good, cheap B & B in that area?

Thanks

Thanks, already have e-mailed them but just wanted a personal opinion since they're unlikely to "recommend" one establishment over another.

Ham,

It depends on when you are thinking of coming over. My folks have a new self contained unit at the bottom of our garden, it is a converted stable with all mod cons.
They are looking to rent it out to pilots who are studing or training at Bournemouth airport. It is approx 5 miles from the airport so a car is essential.
If interested drop me a line.

Thumbs up

Excellent B&B Hurn Bridge House, run by a lady called Pippa. £22 a night, big rooms all double beds, some on suite, approx 5 - 10 minutes walk to PPSC from house. Only rents out to pilots. Can also get evening meals if you require them or self cater.
I stayed there during my course at PPSC, and highly recommend it.
Telephone 01202 471336 ask for Pippa . Best time to ring is evening UK time.

Good luck with your studies

email me with the dates you want Ham and I'll check with my Landlady. She has space in September, maybe a share of a room in October but not sure about the rest of the year. She may have a large room (£105 per week I think) or a shared room (£75 I think) both include evening meal and supplies/facilities to make breakfast and lunch. The house is 5 miles from Hurn, but not being as wet as SkyCruiser ( ) I cycle every day (to SFT) and it's not too bad.

Oh - must like children. She has two, but they do stay out of your way for you to work!

Sometime ago ATCNightmare replied to this post and could not recommend Hurn Bridge House B&B.However Eagles recommendation remains. Is this some sort of censorship or bias? I can't see how anybody can make a decision about accomodation unless they have all the facts. I know from friends who have gone down the path of ATPL study who suggest that not only is the school important, but the ability to study away from class can be your make or break. Add to this the search facility has gone and you can no longer research you data. Can any moderator explain this?

Question

Fair point, Worldsat, what exactly did happen to the critical post which, incidentally, was sufficient for me to look elsewhere. I most definitely do not need any distractions during the refresher.

Ham Phisted; I consider it highly probable that the critical post was removed at the request of the B&B concerned.
May I suggest that if in the future a critical post is removed, then a recommended post is also removed to address the balance. It must be remembered that if you are from overseas and studying in UK you may well have to pay your accomodation inadvance of arriving. That could be a costly £2,000 for three months stay. What guarantee do you have that your accomodation will be satisfactory and if not, that you will get a full refund!
Having done some searching I have discovered the lost post at the following: www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/Forum2/HTML/009552.html

Yup, I would be very unhappy forking out a load of cash upfront to find out that I'd been ripped off. It would be especially irritating if an unfavorable post had been removed from the thread. I agree that if someone objects to an unfavourable post then the fairest solution is to withdraw all posts on an establishment.

Just so it is understood I deleted the message and was not asked or told too!! My reason is totally selfish and personal AND I MUST STRESS has nothing to do with the B&B or what I said - which I stand my ground on, an opinion is an opinion after all!
