Thumbs down Cabair/BE Aptitudes

The postman brought me a rather surprising letter from Cabair this morning. A PFO for the tests on the 20th despite being invited last year. The only difference this year is that I have a PPL with 70 odd hours.

Has anybody else found themselves in the same position?

I suspect that with fewer places on offer they are being particularly stringent in filtering down the numbers.

Good luck to those who've been invited!

Modular here we come...

MB,

Sorry to hear that mate. I don't think the PPL did any harm though - I got an invite with a PPL, Night and 73 hrs. Maybe their just getting more picky as you say.

Best of luck with the modular route - I'll probably be joining you soon! Atleast you saved 50 quid!

Monkeyboy,

Hard luck mate. (I got an invite today) You are not in the minority by any means. Just stick to your guns.

The reason I say "luck" is because I think there is an element of this involved with Cabair. I got rejected last year for the Air 2K scheme. I had a PPL etc. in fact, not much has changed since that time, so I was amazed to be invited to the tests!?!

Good luck to all involved.

edited for spelling

Hello Monkeyboy,

Remember me? Where did we meet, was it at Airtours in Lancashire 12 mnoths ago - please remind me - crap memory!

I have given up applying for sponsorships through Cabair - never been invited to one.

I remember someone posting on a thread last year that he sat next to a candidate at the aptitudes who had no flying experience, knew nothing of the training scheme and had applied because "it seemed like a cool thing to do"!

I therefore have no faith left in Cabair and their "sponsorship schemes".

The whole application process would appear to be something of a lottery - I await correction.

Bad luck Monkeyboy, I've also not been invited to the aptitudes. Don't worry, it was a rubbish sponsorship anyway
