Licence conversion ICAO-CAA/JAA

I was wondering if anybody could orient me:

I have a Chilean DGAC issued PPL (ICAO state) and I've just moved in to London, UK. I would like to continue my flying here and I was wondering how exactly is the conversion process done.

Is it better I convert into a CAA state license or a JAA? Is there any online document with the guidelines for license conversion?

You don't actually need to convert as long as you only want to fly day VFR.

There are issues with getting medicals and things which may mean that you want to convert it.

LASORS: LASORS 2010 | Publications | CAA

If you open up this document and look under PPL it will give you the process if you do decide you want to convert it.
