Folks,. .Some help required....Is it possible to complete the F.A.A ATPL exams on the British Isles? Can you study by distance education? I am a current holder of a frozen Irish ATPL and Multi I.R Rating.. .Thanking you in advance...

I believe so. The exam is computer based and a couple of hours long....that's it!! Study aids all include the entire question database including the answers. Red books by GLEIM are pretty good and Transair stock them. You will only need one book and I think you can get a CD based version which will give you as many simulated exams as you like.. .Most people aim for very high pass marks as a result. When you do your FAA flight test there is a very stringent(3 to 4 hours in some cases)oral test, which, if you fail, means you will not fly.. .There is no partial on the oral test.. .Much of the oral may be based on the questions you got wrong which the examiner can deduce from the codes printed on your answer sheet.. .I believe there is a computer test centre in twickenham, but there may be one in Dublin, seeing as the testing is done by outside agencies who also do other US educational testing.
